A single cell in a table can span multiple column or rows. In the picture that follows, the cell in the middle of the first row spans two rows.
Use the Property inspector or the Modify > Table commands to increase or decrease the row or column span for a table cell.
To change a cell's row or column span:
1 | Place the cursor in the desired cell. |

To expand the current cell by one row, click the Increase Row Span button in the Property inspector or choose Modify > Table > Increase Row Span. |

To expand the cell by one column, click the Increase Column Span button in the Property inspector or choose Modify > Table > Increase Column Span. |

To reduce a cell spanning more than one row, click the Decrease Row Span button in the Property inspector or choose Modify > Table > Decrease Row Span. |
